The Apiti Tavern & Eatery is situated in the centre of Apiti Village, supported by a rural-focused economy. Farming includes mainly sheep, beef & dairy, but tourism is making its mark.

Manawatu is among one of the fastest-growing tourist destinations in New Zealand, including northern Manawatu's Kimbolton, Apiti & Rangiwahia districts. Apiti has become known as "the gateway to the Ruahines" with many opportunities for tramping, hunting & horse trekking. Apiti Tavern & Eatery provides an opportunity for a meal stopover, which includes great coffee.

Varied landscapes provide amazing photographic opportunities.
